Villa Monte d'Oro: An Enchanting Journey into the Historic Splendors of Imperial Rome
Villa Monte d'Oro is a one-of-a-kind location and an ideal place to organize an exclusive event whether it be an important moment of your life, a wedding, baptism, or birthday, or a business event such as a conference or meeting.
Immersed in the rolling landscape of lush forest and vineyards in the Castelli Romani or "Castles of Rome", the Villa sits on a charming hilltop that enjoys a breathtaking panorama that embraces the Eternal City and the sea beyond. It is in this singular setting that Alfio Caltabiano, master at arms and cinematographic director during the golden years of Italian Cinema, created this monumental enterprise. This very unique location enables us to relive the glory of ancient Rome today. Villa Monte d'Oro makes its mark by offering a unique and unmistakable style both throughout the property's interior and garden design.
The Villa's Grounds:
- A monumental gateway, magnificently done in wrought iron and peperino, a local lava stone, is crowned with a marble tympanum.
- An ample open space positioned in front of the Villa has been embellished with slabs of travertine. In the center of which a monumental compass rose has been inlaid with the use of valuable marbles.
- A panoramic terrace of approximately two thousand square meters is encircled with a majestic peperino colonnade: a balustrade on which eighty hand fluted columns are positioned and in turn these columns support ancient wooden beams that complete the structure. Other elements of remarkable artistic value enriched the terrace: a splendid geometric travertine pavement, wrought iron lampposts for illumination; benches of ancient stone are encircled with lush palms, a bronze and stone pavilion is furnished with a cast iron fire pit and a swimming pool of twenty-five squared meters equipped with lighting.
- The grounds compliment the elegant and sober architecture of the Villa. Painted in a warm Pompeian red, the Villa has a sloping roof made of period shingles, balconies with decorative balusters and adornments in peperino and a large portico with harmonious arches that graciously opens onto the panoramic terrace.
